NYC ITS Fiber Management System Inventory City Wide Phase I

Fortis documented over 100 miles of fiber infrastructure, including conduits, pipes, and trunks, splicing with high levels of accuracy to the strength/port levels based on the “OPEK ITS Orchestrator™” Connection Management Portal (CMP), Assets Management Portal (AMP), and corresponding modules with as-built documentation, field surveys, OTDR tests, and related inventory data. The CMP, AMP, and HelpDesk Portals are linked together, which allows for the monitoring of ITS assets. Users can open help desk tickets and review over 300,000 devices on the map simultaneously. ITS devices include CCTVs, Traffic Signals, Detectors, RSUs, RTPI Signs, DMS’s, HARs, Field network devices, street light poles, and many more.
ITS Fiber Management System Implementation (Brooklyn Bridge)

The Brooklyn Bridge looms majestically over New York City’s East River and provides passage to millions of commuters and tourists on a daily basis. Fortis provides a solution for fiber infrastructure inventory at the famous New York City (NYC) landmark Brooklyn Bridge. Based on “OPEK ITS Orchestrator™” Connection Management Portal (CMP), as-built documentation and OTDR tests complete documentation of the fiber conduits, trunks, and splicing populated to the system with the ability to view information in a variety of geocoded maps. The system displays devices connected via fiber, detailing splicing information, network communication statistics and monitoring.
Connected Vehicles Assets Management System

CV-AMS improves the safety of travelers and pedestrians in New York City through the deployment of V2V, V2I and V2P connected vehicle technologies.
The system is scalable and can accommodate from 10,000 to 1,000,000 vehicles.
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Citywide Assets Management System

Fortis implemented “OPEK ITS Orchestrator Assets Management Portal” (AMP) which is an assets management software package intending to document over 10.1B of NYC DOT ITS assets, including 6,300 miles of streets, the largest municipal street-lighting system in the country consisting of 262,000+ lights, 162,000 corners with corresponding infrastructure, 14,000+ traffic signals, a variety of DMS’s, CCTV’s, RTMS’s and other ITS and IT corresponding devices currently installed on New York City streets. AMP improves asset acquisition, reliability and compliance as well as minimizes operational and maintenance costs. AMP is a more proactive and high-level accuracy management solution.
NYC DOT Real Time Traffic Information

The Real Time Traffic
Information (RTTI) portal allows the public, NYC DOT partner agencies, and media to view NYC DOT and NYS DOT CCTVs, provides tabular and geocoded map views, and the ability to create virtual
video walls. The portal provides travel time and
travel condition information in real-time. The portal includes information for cycling riders (NYC Bike Map, location of the bicycle parking racks, etc.) and a map of available electrical vehicle charging stations.
Assets Management Portal

AMP was launched in 2017 at the NYC DOT and has provided advanced
capabilities of managing, monitoring and tracking a multi-million array of assets as well as managing repairs and scheduling
installations. As of 2021 the system
manages more than 2 million IoT assets, ensuring quality of day-to-day operations and providing capabilities such as
discovering and managing IoT devices
in real-time from procurement to
decommission. AMP includes
customizable features such as
Dashboards, Reports Builder, Alarms and Notifications Modules and Data Integrity and Encryption Modules. The system
also provides a foundation for
SMART City solutions.
NYS DOT ATMS Systems – Design, Support and Maintenance

Fortis was tasked to provide a Region-Wide Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) based on the “OPEK ITS Orchestrator™” platform. System controls over 250+ CCTVs, 128 DMSs, PDMSs, Travel Time VMSs, 1000+ detector stations, and exchanges over 1000+ CCTVs between 17 NYC and NYS Agencies, with over 300+ simultaneous users. System compliant with the latest standards, including NTCIP, NEMA, and NIST.
